The enterpriser has a tradition of several generations in tourist services. Fishing tourism found the river Teno already in the 1830s and Kaava in the early 1900s. The first travelers spent the night in the storehouse or in a room next to the sauna, and amazed their hosts by even offering payment for these lodgings. Since then traveler accommodation has become an important business for the hosts of Kaava. Today Kaava offers travelers accommodation of many different levels; everything from a simple fisher's cabin to a log cottage of high quality.
